Professor Michael Wilson

Chief Medical Officer - Co Founder
Professor Michael Wilson is a leading cardiothoracic surgeon with a special interest in the utilisation of emerging technologies and minimally invasive techniques to deal with complex heart and lung surgical problems. He holds an academic appointment at Macquarie University and has extensive experience in clinical and basic science research.
Professor Wilson has a wide and varied interest in all aspects of cardiothoracic surgery including total-arterial coronary artery bypass surgery, anaortic all arterial off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, Da Vinci Robotic Mitral repair (RoboMitral), Coronary bypass including robotic Mammary artery harvest (RoboCAG) and Thoracic oncologic surgery especially robotic lung resection (RoboLung), minimally invasive video thoracoscopic assisted cardiac surgery (MICS) and lung (VATS/MITS) surgery, complex aortic root, arch and thoraco-abdominal aortic surgery, structural heart disease and transcatheter techniques including Transcatheter aortic valve implant (TAVI).
A graduate of Sydney University, Professor Wilson completed his FRACS in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, followed by a fellowship in transplant surgery at Stanford University Hospital , California and a cardiac surgery fellowship at Toronto General Hospital. Professor Wilson also spent seven years in the heart and lung transplant unit at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.
Terry is a pioneer of digital innovation, with over two decades of leadership in Australia and internationally.
As the Chief Executive and Innovation Officer and Co-Founder of SXR,
Terry works closely with Professor Michael Wilson and the product team to the growth of the company to align with the changing needs of the medical industry.
Prior to establishing SXR, Terry was Managing Director and co-founder of Amnesia (Razorfish), which he evolved into a full-service, globally award-winning digital agency.
As Senior Vice President of Razorfish Australia, Terry has worked extensively in Australia as well as with clients and teams in Asia-Pac, US, and Europe.
Terry has a passion for medical innovation which has grown from time spent partnering with brands including Abbott, Medtronic, Edwards, Device Technologies, Telstra Health and Samsung.
He also has a strong focus on mentoring and instilling a spirit of organisation-wide digital innovation to improve customer and patient outcomes.
Elliott is the VP of Product at SXR, bringing a rich blend of design, engineering, and product management expertise to the team. With a strong foundation in user experience, his multidisciplinary skill set allows him to bridge the gap between creative design and technical execution.
In addition to his role at SXR, Elliott is the co-founder of Frill, a feedback management tool empowering businesses to collect and organise customer insights. Frill now serves hundreds of customers globally.
Elliott has a proven track record of digital success. He co-founded Trunk, a "GitHub for designers," which was acquired by InVision in 2018. Earlier, he led a global digital agency, which was acquired by blue-chip communications firm Edelman in 2013.
Professor Preda leads the research and ethics programs with SXR.
In this role she develops papers regarding robotic surgery, MAFLD, PPE and infection control as well as occupational Health and Safety and related topics.
Professor Preda is also instrumental in SXR’s efforts to train students as part of its medical industry engagement.
Currently teaches across the medical program at Macquarie University, Professor Preda and is the clinical lead of MD research for the MD. She is Head of Endocrinology and PI on a number of clinical trials.
Professor Preda graduated from the University of New South Wales with a BSc(Med) MBBS(Hons) and Masters of Public Health.
She also held a Fellowship at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Metabolism and Endocrinology in the UK and undertook advanced endocrinology training at RNSH.
Professor Preda completed her Doctor of Philosophy at Sydney University based on work grounded in Oxford, with research on the biology of neuroendocrine tumour pathways identifying relevant genetic mutations.
